Product Overview:

What is Patanol?

Patanol (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.1% is a prescription eye drop for effective treatment of ALL signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Patanol is a unique product that works in minutes to relieve your itchy, red, watery allergy eyes and prevents symptoms from coming back, when dosed twice a day.

How does it work?

Patanol relieves allergy eyes first by rapidly stopping the itching and redness, and second, by preventing the symptoms from coming back, when dosed twice a day.

How is it used?

The recommended use of Patanol is one drop in each eye two times a day, or as recommended by your doctor. Care should be taken not to touch the tip of the bottle to any surface.

Are there any side effects?

In patient studies, when the use of Patanol was compared to a basic saline solution without the drug, there was no difference in the overall occurrence of side effects. The most frequently reported side effects for Patanol were headache (7%) and burning and stinging (less than 5%).

May pregnant women use Patanol?

Patanol carries a Pregnancy Category C which means that adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have not been done. Patanol should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor on this matter. If you are pregnant, intending to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding you should discuss the use of Patanol with your doctor.
